I couldnβt help but wonder...what happens when a daydreamy, albeit driven, midwesterner sets out to live her best creative life in Austin, Texas. Fast forward ten years and I can finally tell you: plenty of things! Life as a twenty something in this town; it was never boring. End scene.
Open scene. And suddenly I'm a lot like the highway we love to hate, #35.
That got me thinking about trajectories in general β how we choose to spend our time and how we arrive in miraculous, mundane, and unexpected places. The ways we start, stumble, stand up, evolve and watch our dreams come into focus.
A commonly held value in many communities, scuba included, is to leave things better than the way you found them. And ok, in this sense it's pretty straightforward: leave no trace, take nothing but photos.
Now zoom out a frame and consider: what does it really mean to leave a place, space, or person just a little brighter than before? Is there a framework, a flowchart or a roadmap to follow? Is it idealistic to believe there should be? I for one don't think so, but stay with me.
Here, in my curated corner of the internet, I explore ideas like this in conversation with my fellow creative problem solvers. Together we imagine a world that's a little better, a little brighter, and a little (dare I say?) lighter as a result of our open hearts and community mindset.
First and foremost, I wanted to see if I could. My career in corporate marketing feels secure, but I genuinely miss feature writing, interviews, and the heart talks that come with that territory. A more personal goal I have for this space is to get back to my "writing for the fun of it" roots to hone my voice and get reacquainted with one of my first loves: storytelling. And I don't mean telling only my personal story but also taking a pause to listen, be curious, and shine a light on the experiences of those I know or hope to know better.
I hope you find something that resonates amongst this collection of musings about new and familiar places, tips for traveling solo, with lovers, with family. Some funny but heartfelt lessons, reflections, advice from trusted sources, go-to recipes and faithful poems.
This is my digital heartbeat and pursuit of a creative, joy-filled existence. Erin Archive is a lifestyle blog that celebrates the quiet dream of a life that nourishes the soul and makes a lasting mark. So, why not stay? I invite you to submit an original piece of writing, pitch an idea, teach us something new or browse until you feel a spark of inspiration.

Let's navigate for a beat together!

and now I have to leave it here just to make a point - ugh.
